Shippensburg WiCS Video Podcast: Where is the Software?

Welcome to Shippensburg University's Women in Computer Science podcast titled, "Where is the Software?" Research has shown that many girls aren't interested in computer science because they don't see it's relevance. Our goal is to show not only how computer science connects with many current issues, but also how creative and exciting building software systems can be. In addition, we've built this website to promote discussions about the topics. Our WiCS team is watching for your comments and waiting to answer!

We also publish this podcast through iTunes and a couple of other podcast servers. You can see the podcasts through them by clicking on their icons to the right.

In general, we're interested in why girls are underrepresented in computer science. As part of that, we are members of Systers, and watch CRA-W for interesting information on both girls and women in technology.

Creating a login is very simple and gives you a lot more from this website. It'll let you can join the various discussions and you can sign up to receive an email when we post a new podcast.

Finally, we have a discussion thread for general comments including ideas on upcoming podcasts or other areas of general interest. Feel free to join the conversation at our General Comments Thread

If you have any trouble with this site, we are ready to help you! Please contact the students of the Ship's WiCS organization at wics@ship.edu or the faculty advisor, Dr. Wellington, at cawell@ship.edu.
